Autumn has started

Autumn has started. Great to be outside with my daughter and collect things for our season table. Besides what we find we make things ourselves using dry felting technique and sewing. Every week she also brings something to the kindergarden to add to the table there. Next week I am starting a monthly workshop at the kindergarden for the parents where I will teach how to make toys and decorations of natural materials.

Waldorf dolls

Lately I was asked to make new dolls for the antroposofic gan in Eilat. These dolls are handmade of natural materials. Wool for the filling which gives the doll a nice feel and thick tricot cotton for the doll itself in a few layers. The hair I made from merino wool, very soft. Its amazing how beautiful the faces turned out after embroidery. They are so cute. My daughter fell in love with them and is now happily carrying one around our home too :).

Wool fairies

Wool fairies are a joy to make. They are Waldorf inspired, needle felted. Beautiful and soft with natural colors. They immediately attract your eye and make for a happy sight. Nice by themselves or combined in a mobile attached to a branch.

Price: 100 shekel (23euro) for a girlfairy, 120 shekel (30euro) for a boyfairy. ย The size is about 25 cm from head to bottom. The fairy has a gold string with glass beads attached to it.

Patchwork in progress

Something new for me. Patchwork. It always seemed too daunting a project but I made the first step. The disappearing nine block. Lots of fun playing with the pattern. This first one is for on my daughter her bed ๐Ÿ™‚

You start by making blocks of 9 pieces of fabric. ย These you cut in 4 squares. And voila, a complicated block is created. Now you can play with the pattern.

Skirts!

Design, play with colors, skirts are just fun. Here the latest summer skirts… with soft lining and small zipper on the side. If you are interested, email me and I can design something especially for you.

I added some tutorials for zipper bags and pillow cases for enthusiastic ones who’d like to try themselves, enjoy!
