Mrs Thaw… she cleans away the snow… she cleans away the winter. She is a character from the story ‘Ollie’s ski trip’ (1907) of the famous writer Elsa Beskow. King winter and Jack Frost are also part of the same story. At the end of winter Mrs Thaw cleans away the snow so the earth becomes ready for spring. Elsa Beskows stories and characters became much-loved favorites among Waldorf teachers and families, they illustrate the seasonal cycles of nature and the rhythm of the year.
